The Victorian Parliament’s report on high-control groups has been tabled, but there is no guarantee its recommendations will be acted on. As the pre-election caretaker period is close, the timing matters.

SOCCHG (Survivors of Coercive Cults and High-Control Groups) is leading an effort to get letters to MPs and to connect people with lived experience with their local MP. SOCCHG has strong relationships with MPs, and CIFS is glad to support this work.

Who can take part: People who live in Victoria, and people living interstate whose group operates in Victoria. The same process can be followed in other states, and CIFS can share some contacts and knowledge of MPs who have already been approached.

Taking part is voluntary. If you’d like CIFS to support you write a letter or prepare to share your story with an advocate alongside you, reach out to info@cifs.org.au
