CIFS provides information, support and guidance to people and families affected by cults, high-control groups and coercive environments.

Our email and telephone consultations are provided by CIFS volunteers with relevant experience and knowledge. These conversations are intended to provide an opportunity to discuss your situation, ask questions and explore possible options for what you might do next. They are not a counselling or psychological treatment service.

Where appropriate, we may be able to provide information about counselling and other professional support services, including practitioners who have experience working with people affected by high-control groups and coercive control. Some CIFS volunteers also offer counselling services independently of their volunteer work with CIFS.

Getting in touch

Please email info@cifs.org.au with a brief outline of what you are seeking help with and, if you would like to arrange a telephone consultation, some suitable times for a short phone call.

As CIFS is largely volunteer-run, responses may take some time depending on volunteer availability. We appreciate your patience and will respond as soon as we are able.

If you are seeking urgent mental health support or are in immediate danger, please contact an appropriate emergency or crisis service rather than relying on a response from CIFS.
