Kenja:
Films - BEYOND OUR KEN
Melbourne Film Festival
WORLD PREMIERE
Film Review from:
melbournefilmfestival.com.au
Australia, July 13, 2007

You wouldn’t know a cult if you joined one.

What is Kenja? It is derided as a ‘secretive cult’ in the media, its leader described as a ‘seedy conman’ in parliament. For 25 years, Kenja has fought all the negativity the world could throw. But Kenja isn’t going under.

Last year, Ken Dyers and Jan Hamilton allowed a film crew unprecedented access to the ‘spiritual evolvement centre’ they founded in 1982. This apparently utopian organisation has been accused of practising a hypnotic form of mind control and is preparing to fight yet another court case. How can the view from inside Kenja be so different to the one outside?

Through remarkable verité footage and candid interviews, Beyond Our Ken explores the anatomy and ambiguity of the ‘cult’ enigma.
